Horse site links

This is a new page on this site that will be expanded (or eliminated, depending on feedback). Please feel free to voice opinions, make suggestions or recommend places for us to take a look at for inclusion here.

Here are some interesting websites we’ve found that offer unusual and thoughtful information for horse enthusiasts:

http://www.theingate.com/ Ange Finn is a clever and humorous writer who uses this website to help new show riders (young and old) navigate the scene and laugh at what life may bring them. She speaks as a parent of a young equestrian, as well as a more mature adult who’s decided in recent years to give showing a go. You may recognize her name as the “Last Laugh” columnist for Equine Journal.

http://www.naturalsolutionsbyanke.com/ Anke Johnson specializes in providing health coaching for equestrians. Her programs deal with everything from health and exercise to eliminating fear. She hosts a blog (mostly personal musings) on her site as well a good number of free videos that provide tidbits to ponder. If you’re looking for some unusual ideas on how you can take better care of yourself to improve your equine relations and performance, this is something worth taking a look at.

Looking for GREAT horse images?:

http://www.thequinest.com/ features a blog on the main page of the site that highlights of one of the best collections of horse related images I’ve seen. Sometimes you’ll learn about history or the present, other times be inspired, often motivated to consider something new and certain days, you’ll just smile. This is definitely a blog worth subscribing to, no matter how deep or remote your interest in horses. Copy is short as the pictures drive the content, so it’s a quick read.

Below are some of the better places we’ve found for advertising a variety of horse related products and services (and horses too):

http://www.HorseShoeCorner.com – Tim Van Loan started this initiative as a way to help people get more specific and appropriate geographical search results when looking for horse resources. Like many businesses, this was borne from his personal frustration when trying to locate a boarding barn in his area (NY) where stables as far away as California where spotlighted. He’s doing a lot now with the site to help try to support not-for-profits. It’s worth checking out.

http://www.horseshowcentral.com – we’ve just started to test this one and will report back once we learn more about the site.

This is a vacation riding location:

http://www.blueskysage.com
Blue Sky Sage Horseback Adventures, according to the owner, is a place where you can ride the wide-open spaces of Wyoming. Active rides on good horses for small groups of intermediate to experienced riders. No fences and no “nose to tail”.
